Ever since we visited North India two years back , we have fallen in love with the mountains and hill stations. So this year we decided to head to the beautiful state of Uttarakhand in India which has been on our bucket list for a long time. We were happy to finally cross it off.

We visited Mussoorie in March this year.We started our trip from Pune to Delhi by flight. It was around 2.5 hours. We then traveled to Mussoorie by road in a cab which was organized by the tour we had booked. The journey from Delhi to Mussoorie took us approximately 9 hours with few stops along the way. We love road trips as it’s great way to explore and see the places. On the way we also met a friend who stays in Dehradun which is the capital city of Uttarakhand.

The waterfall’s name is probably derived from the word ‘Camp Tea’.

The entrance is almost hidden but don’t worry shop keepers are excited enough to point the direction and will  also try to coax you into buying souvenirs. You can access the falls is via a short cable-car ride that travels down a forest-covered mountainside. An alternative way to get there is to walk down a series of hillside steps (I think there are about 200 though!).  We didn’t really go down as there was a lot of crowd , but we caught a glimpse of it. Kempty Falls is open daily and there is a fee for the cable car and the attractions at the waterpark.

There are also few activities like boat rides and other games. Personally I loved the sight of flowers and tall trees. Some people might find this place boring , but I found it peaceful.

Mall Road Mall Road is a major road in Mussoorie and it’s located in the center of the city. There are various shops and restaurants. The old buildings give it a very quaint look. Lampposts and benches are on every corner so one can view the beautiful landscape and it looks beautiful especially during sunrise or sunset. We also took a ride on one of the cycle rickshaws that was fun!

Cafe De Tavern Cafe De Tavern is a chic little restaurant in Mussoorie. It’s located on Mall Road alongside several other restaurants. We had heard many people who recommended this and so decided to check it out. The interiors are really lovely and chic. The food is really tasty , good in quantity and worth the money. Service is also pretty quick. We ordered pizza, pasta and few drinks. Cuisine: Italian, American, Bar, Pizza, Cafe, Fast food, Vegetarian Friendly, Vegan Options, Gluten Free Options.Read more here

Your trip took me down memory lane, the drive from delhi, stopping by Cheetal grand and to Mussoorie. I was there recently with kids and loved the beauty of the mountains. I found Landour to be so pristine and clean. Did you enjoy the sofie on mall road ? Its a ritual 🙂
